What cool things are you doing with your nexus 7?

If you're into it, this device is probably one of the best comic book readers I've ever used. Love reading the frank miller and co. Era batman on it.

God am I a sucker for Batman comics, I used to read a very diverse group of comics and now I find myself strictly reading Batman, great stories.

Probably not cool to most people but I've been trying to run gcc, already got python + gae working, other than I've been reading lots of books, this n7 does so much cool stuff I couldn't imagine going back to a device like a kindle that just does one thing.

for the 1 who asked what I use to learn spanish, I use Busuu and google translate. for the 1 who asked what I use for texting, I use google voice, and text plus.

I have a ton of comics on my TF201....the 7 inch screen isnt too small for comics? The 10.1 is perfect.

I find that the high resution makes it perfect for comic reading. If it were 1024 I might have said otherwise, but the extra pixels and color depth make it perfect, especially when you consider how much more portable it is than a 10" tab.

I use mine for a lot of different things but I guess the "coolest" is light penetration (pen) testing of networks. I'm still discovering tools on the Android platform to use as I'm coming from an iPhone (jail broke) to do light pen testing.

Fing app is decent for network mapping and basic port scans. I've got a few other apps installed to explore further once I've gotten the basic info out of Fing. I was looking at Complete Linux app for Android which would allow me to install BackTrack Linux under Busy box, but it requires rooting my N7 which I don't really want to do just yet. That would give me the full suite of tools, but that's also why I have my laptop for doing the more in-depth stuff.

I am glad I'm not the only one using it for ebooks. I have a kindle, which I actually love using, but its just so easy to use the N7 esp with great apps like moon+ reader and aldiko. My poor kindle feels old fashioned now

I love reading on my N7! I have a Kindle Touch which I love also, but I've hardly read on it since I got the N7. I sold my Kindle Fire 3 days after I got this because for me it's much easier to read my Kindle books on the N7 now. The screen is just amazing!

How does Google Voice work? Is it free? Can I sync it with my cell phone number?

Go to voice. Google. Com. Sign up for a free google phone number and link it to your current cell number. Now any time someone calls of texts your google number, it will go to your cell phone. Likewise you can then use google voice app from your tablet to text.

Forum browsing through tapatalk
Xbmc remote
Torrent search and input into nas drive using transmission
Reading Vonnegut and child rearing books.
Ssh into htpc to arrange TV, videos
Ssh into work when needed

And my current project is trying to get music streaming from Google play to my htpc (raspberry pi using raspbmc) similar to what the nexus q is suppose to do.

Use it a lot to read nook books and to check the news. But some of the cooler things I use it for are :
Easier texting
Police scanner
Listening to stand-up comedy on Tune In Radio
Learning Spanish

Is there a specific app for language learning? this is such a good idea for a device like this. i Suppose i could get it in an ebook. but some sort of app where you can talk into the device and it can mark you on pronunciation.
