Re: Downloading update 4.9.51. NOT beta!
Well, after unrooting (was a waste of time to root it for the 1 day it was rooted after all, lol), the Moto software DID find "an update" for me, it said, contrary to what my phone has told me...
Never rooted huh?
It was a wonderful try, and I completely understand why you think what you're thinking (I would think it too), but I guarantee you 100% you're wrong. And next time, trying to sound a little less snotty about it would do you a lot of good.
I have had issues with this phone previously. My phone is now doing the exact same thing it did when it randomly rebooted in the middle of fiddling with an app called "WidgetLocker" or whatever it was called,
which I posted about in this thread here (go ahead, have a look). After three battery pulls, the phone has now passed the Rethink Possible screen, and I'm now staring at my homescreen with apparently absolutely zero mobile service. Just - like - last - time (rebooted during widgetlocker). This is the same exact issue now, again. Both caused by a reboot, not by any root or anything even closely related to that side of android at all. Since I am having my exact issue presented to me again, I know that if I turn my phone off right now, there's no coming back. So as of now, it's sitting behind me, on but with no mobile service. I was going to try & see if I had any other option this time, since I've gone through this before, but I came back to this thread and found your snotty nonsense first. So, if you want to say something incredibly generalized and stupidly broad like, "the people who are having problems with Gingerbread are people who had messed with their phones before updating", go ahead my friend, be an ignorant snob. However, the issue with my phone right now is not because it was rooted for literally not even 24 hours on Froyo, with absolutely NOTHING done with it in terms of special abilities now that it was rooted (I downloaded Titanium Backup and ran it, that was it), and then, might I add, unrooted before updating to GB,
again negating your claim. The issue with my phone is the same issue I experienced before GB was even officially announce for the Atrix. Do I have a defective unit? Perhaps. Is the source of my problems "root"? No, not even in the least.
Thanks for your thought.
