Are the "MK808 Dual Core A9" mini pc on a stick, ready for real use or are they of such low quality that they are little more than toys? Any experience? are there any forums where they are talked about?

I bought one, got it delivered from China, and now I regret it. This is 100% China designed. I figured most smartphones and apple products are all made in China. So, how bad could this one be? It's pretty bad. I now really appreciate what Google, Apple, Amazon, Samsung, HTC engineers are adding to make a "working" product. This is not a final product, imo. It's got all the components that could be made to work, but they just don't work out of box. Wifi not working, screen is not 1080p, screen looks stretched sideways, chip is not running at the full speed, and so on. This product is at a stage where the real SW engineering work can start, not at stage where they just sell it to consumers. I don't particularly enjoy tinkering with FWs and waiting for fixes which may come or not. But, others may love a toy they can change and try different FWs everyday. Things like Apple TV at $99 is looking really good now; that's really not much more money to get a fully working well-engineered product.
If interest, go here and read about the troubles and different FWs to try that may or may not work. Mostly, they don't work, yet. But, who knows, they may have one that works well in a few days. http://www.armtvtech.com/armtvtechforum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=42
