What do you NOT like about your Nexus 5X?

Battery seems terrible so far. It will make it through a work day, but not with a lot left.

The screen is really poor. It's a little brighter to the left and you get some edge bleed really noticeable with dark screens. Even factoring in that it's LCD, I'd say it's cheap and of poor quality.

Other than that there are just software bugs to be worked out. I should have spent $70 more for the 6P, but dang that phone is big. Amoled is becoming mandatory, hard to go back to an LCD display. Too bad too as I really like the 5X size.

2. The Nexus logo on the back of the phone is just painted and looks cheap compared to the nice engraved logo on the 5;

It may look a little cheaper, the inlaid lettering on the 5 had its own problems. I had a few of the inserts (the vertical parts of the 'n' and 'u' and half of the 'x') come out during the last 6 months or so.

So far, my only gripe has been the position of the volume rocker. I'll probably get used to it, but it feels so out of place both due to the side its on and how low it is.

You have a bad screen, I would get a replacement if I was you.
Mine is nothing like this. The backlight is even and there is no bleed.

My only gripe so far is that dirt is starting to fill in the tiny gaps at the top and bottom of the screen and I have no idea how to get it out. It's tiny particles of dirty but it's there nonetheless. Anyone else noticing this?

1. Nexus 5x hurts my finger joints right in between ring and pinky fingers. Had to use two hands to operate this phone if I need to skip finger pain.
2. Google Voice, NFC, and Bluetooth, Location take too much battery. If I have all these features on without using the phone much, battery still dies in 8 hours after fully charged. I understand it's not the phone's problem, but it sucks I have to switch off some default feature.
3.When there's a pop-up notification when screen is off, I have to either hit "close, or view" first before any action; fingerprint sensor will not automatically take me to homepage or to the message.

Biggest problem of this phone is the battery I would say. Google Voice is super useful, but I have to turn this feature off if I want the battery to stay more than 10 hours+.

On the other hand, the phone has lot of nice features. So I am still enjoy using this phone.

My ONLY COMPLAINT so far is that its pretty damn tall! I think some of my sweat pants need deeper pockets because I am afraid I might lose it!

Yeah, preferred the top and bottom of the original N5.

Yup, way too damn tall. It's still a "big" phone to me.

- too tall, wish it were smaller. my finger won't rest on the fingerprint senor because of this. I don't hold the phone that high up.
- battery isn't that great considering I just paid nearly 450 for it.
- Ambient Display NEVER works. I've seen it probably 4 times since I've got the thing. I don't know what I'm doing wrong to have it never show up when I get notifications.
- no Double-Tap to Wake Up. this is a pricey device, and it doesn't have this? ridiculous.
- the charger situation currently blows, since I'm waiting on my USB C stuff in the mail.
- MY BIGGEST GRIPE (which might be a Marshmallow gripe): Why does the notification shade drag down so slowly when you swipe down from anywhere on the home screen? The wait is agonizing. I used to used the gestures in Nova launcer to be able to pull down the shape from anywhere so I don't have to reach to the top and I grew used to it. Now it takes so much longer to pull down and it's driving me crazy...

It's a Marshmallow/Launcher gripe, not a 5X gripe. The same thing happened with my N5 in Action Launcher after the Marshmallow update. IIRC, Chris Lacy said something about there not being a proper API to do that, so things got wonky with 6.0. Don't think he had a fix in sight.

Swiping from the status bar (where the OS picks it up, not the launcher) still works at normal speed.

That's awful to hear. I try and get rid of any reason to reach to the top of my phone since we've decided we all want giant ******* phones. I really hope something can be figured out, it's single handedly making me want to ditch Marshmallow.

I've already ditched the stock launcher and gone back to Nova. It's so much more flexible. The phone is still too damn big. I'm going to have to find jeans with deeper pockets. The battery is great. I have 40 to 50 percent at the end of the day. I'd have to top up my Moto X endlessly. I loved it's size but I won't miss the bad battery.

I'm planning on selling my Galaxy S6 for this? How is the display compared to the S6?

Coming from the Nexus 4, it's nothing but positives for me, with the possible exception of lack of wireless charging. Other than that my biggest problem is all the reviewers damning it with faint praise. This is a damn good phone. For me the phrase "for the money" is insulting. The low cost IS a killer feature, not a crutch or reason for apologetics.

I am considering buying the 5x but reading this topic has me a little concerned. I was leaning toward the 5x from the HTC One A9 but now am leaning back the One A9 as the cost of the phone is the same for me in Canada (until Nov 6th then it goes up to $649 from $549). Any feedback is appreciated.

The 5X is a great phone, but it doesn't meet everyone's idea of the "perfect" phone. So sure there will be criticisms. If the phone was that bad everyone would be returning them. (If storage capacity isn't an issue, you can also look at the 6P which is fairly close in price to the 5X for 32GB).
