What do you think of phones having no physical buttons? (i.e. Home and back buttons)

I'm getting along just fine on my Moto Droid Turbo 2, without physical Home, Back and Recent apps buttons. Hadn't really thought about it much, as I knew that it would be the case with the T2.

Personally I love physical buttons it's just nice to receive a feedback.

Samsung is really making use of that physical home button be it to accept a call or as a finger print scanner (although I would prefer a trackpad function over the scanner). I wish LG would offer that too and make all buttons, home, back and recent menu physical plus add a call button.

I've owned a bunch of great phones before Ericsson t28, First Nokia phone with a colored screen and of course the champ of longetivity the Nokia 7360

I don't think I'd ever get used to on screen buttons because of the non feedback and lag.

I prefer capacitive buttons over physical buttons, and of course having backlight is a must. I think onscreen "buttons" are too intrusive.

I upgraded to the G4 and loving on screen buttons even more than the M8. The stock G4 ROMs not only allow placement editing of the buttons, but also has several additional buttons you can add for even greater functionality. They hit the nail with that implementation.

Switching from a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to a Nexus 6P, that is one of the things that I have had the most problems adjusting to. That and the Menu button.

I'm a fan of on-screen buttons on my devices. It gives the phone an overall cleaner look and reduces the size of the bottom bezel. Furthermore, depending on the ROM, on-screen buttons allow for greater customization of what can be done. You want a search button and a menu button? Add them. Plus, I just like how they look.

Going from HTC m8 to oneplus2 I love the capacitive buttons, and also the fact you have the choice to switch back to onscreen buttons.

I actually love having phones with "no buttons." I either go all-out with a BlackBerry or "button-less" with my Android phones. Having a home button really annoys me... But, of course, I've never really used one of those phones extensively; so I am obviously biased.

All that being said, I *do* like the Samsung series and have considered jumping into it off and on; and I like my Mom's, but I just don't really enjoy the physical button/home key thing. Don't think I could get used to it, despite my respect for the Samsung line, But hey, all is good. :)

I started out with buttons on my first smartphone, but then the next one had software ones. I'm indifferent really. Recently, I have tried phones with both physical and on-screen buttons. For me, it's to the point where if a phone has physical buttons, I don't see it as a perk or a loss. It's just like "oh, actual buttons".

That's a big reason why I stick with Samsung devices over other androids is the home button and what not.

Button presence was a kind of deal breaker, but now I have gotten used to capacitive touch buttons. I can go either way really, as long as the touch buttons are marked / identified on the screen.

Device buttons all the way, I hate the software buttons, taking precious screen real estate and also sometimes they're there, sometimes not. With a physical / capacitive back button you always know where it is.

Yes I am using G4 as well and this is why I like LG phones. The tiny little things they put in their stock rom feels nice when you discover it. Been using other brands and I was always flashing custom roms but LG I am satisfied with stock :)
