What do you think of the lack of "Just once" and "Always" on the S7?

I think it's dreadful. When I want to send a picture via text, for example, I don't want my gallery to always be the default app. I may want to send a pic from an emoji or meme app I've downloaded. Now I have to either clear the gallery as the default every time or go into the emoji or meme app separately to send it out of there? And the Better Open With app doesn't help in that case. SO ANNOYING SAMSUNG!!

The most common need for this arises when you are changing ringtones or notification tones. You might want to get them from media storage, or from Zedge , or some other app. Removing this simply functionality is just asinine.

I set defaults so I don't have to click again and it just opens.

What do you have needing multiple (random?) applications?

For example, I may want to open a photo in a viewer or one of several editors. Likewise for documents - I may want to edit using a specific editor or I may want to open it in my printing app, etc. For things I DO want a default for, the "Always" choice was there. Now I'm forced to "Always" and I WANT JUST ONCE.

The better open with app is okay, but it has issues. For example, if your in incognito mode in Chrome and click on a link that opens a picture or document, you'll get a warning about leaving incognito mode thst you don't get without the app, presumably because hooks that app has installed and Chrome recognizes it has to pass data to an outside app.

Not cool, Samsung. Not cool at all. I wish I had stuck with 5.1.1 I stead of upgrading to 6.0.1.

I got used to it on my Samsung devices. I got the Note 7 and had to return due to recall so I went to the Pixel XL... I never realized how much I missed it till then. I use it with a few apps since I don't always want the same one.

As others have said the choice was added back by Samsung. You will have to manually clear the defaults for whatever you want to have as just once. If you still don't see the options I would be checking to see if you have any updates pending. I've had it for months.

This is something Samsung changed I believe starting with the note 5.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Noted Edge. Starting with Lollipop -Android v5, and now on Marshmallow v6; The Just Once / Always option was removed. (Note Edge=Note 4, but with one separate independent vertical LED screen. Otherwise it is the same as the Note 4.

I have used the 'Better Open With' App for a while now, too. It is a good app to give back some control over setting up which app(s) you want to open something with.

I dislike the way it GUESSES over which Apps to show as options, when it is set as default. An example: When I clicked on a video that is in .mp4 format, it didn't give me the option of using some applications that I have installed. VLC or Megacast (which converts almost any format of video via the cloud and allows you to play it on Chromecast.)
Any other options besides Better Open with?
I wish they would give the option of adding Apps that aren't recognized by the categories they are listed under.
