We're only a couple weeks away from Google IO!!!

What are you all most excited for, what are you anticipating. Any updates specifically/features you want for android? Is it the nexus tablet? project majel?

Personally nothing I'm really longing for or looking forward to, meaning I'll just be paying attention to see if anything surprising comes. Details on the next nexus (or nexii, as it may be) or next major version of android are still probably months away and that's all that I think would really interest me.. But who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised by something :)

Nexus 7 tab. It will be my first tab, or, if its not all that interesting or useful, my moms first tab when I give it to her :)
A release date would be nice.

Next nexus or plural info would be sweet but I doubt its forthcoming

I'm with Zero on this one and would love to see a nexus tablet my Galaxy 7.7 just died so after the insurance I'll have the funds all saved up. Anything else will be just icing on the cake.

I suppose if the rumored $200 price tag holds I'd be curious.. Specially if the hardware is impressive. No real need for a tablet tho so it would just be a fun, pricey toy if I were to get one lol.

so if they really do keep the price tag to $200... do I sell the Xoom for the nexi.... hmm... decisions, decisions....

I'd like to see Google become their own carrier, sell phones directly and wipe out Verizon.

If they can't do that, then maybe create some sexy voice options for Navigation.

Yeah, the Nexus Tab sounds pretty interesting, and at $200, it isn't really "pricey".
I'd like to hear plans for multiple "Nexi" instead of the rumors, and see if JB is only a small step, or if they've cooked up something sweeter.
And Glass! I want it to come out soon, not for me, but for the brilliant YouTube videos of people walking into things...let the comedy ensue!

I want to see Google buy one of the phone carriers and sell their own phones and crush Apple. <insert evil genius laugh> would also like to see some more about future Google TV, Want to see what the next Nexus will be, hoping for an HTC this time around. hoping to hear about Android integration into onboard navigation units, preferably OEM from the factory. would LOVE to have different voices available for navigation, just like the TomTom, Darth Vader giving you directions is mucho bad ass.

I want to see multitasking a la what I'm seeing in windows 8. Side by side, 2 apps at the same time type multitasking. That's the only thing holding me back from getting an android tablet. Would be nice to see this in jelly bean

I want to see two things;
1. Real interactive voice command. Siri is a toy, Vlingo is useful, to a point. S-Voice, the same. Assistant is getting to be... ok. I want to say "Read the most recent post on androidcentral.com" and have it read to me, then the next post...
2. An Android tablet that has the resolution of the iPad 3. I HATE that Apple is winning the tablet war with a BORING, LOCKED UI, and not a single OEM seems to be able to make a a retina Android screen.

Thats all...:)

Would like to see multi user capability. I'd love to type in a password and have it go straight to a user for my two year old daughter. It would only have her apps. no ability to call and no ability to change phone settings. I have apps, but I think android could make of better.

With Google's investment in wallet, they could consider buying Square. Money making and a wealth of data mining potential.

Just some thoughts. No expectations.

I'd like to see Google build some kind of gaming network that developers can build into their apps. Like game center or openfeint, but hopefully more seamlessly integrated and accessible via all google outlets. Since it would "google" based, it could be used on both android and iOS devices, greatly increasing the number of potential users.

Just a wish :P

would love to see a smoother UI for tablets, nexus tablet that we can buy directly from google, quicker updates, android official version of siri, a much robust and smooth google TV (as much as I use it daily it can be a pain --sluggish)... I do not know what else surprise me Google. Its interesting this time around google has done a good job reducing the leaks about its event.

Other OEM can produce it, sammy had one at a tech show before Apple came with theirs but have no fear OEMs will come up with display that match that resolution soon, and may even run cooler than the new ipad :)

Retina is just a meaningless word apple uses.. There are android devices with higher resolution and dpi's, that aren't called "retina" displays simply because android devices use actual technical terms instead of flashy words. Samsung produces the screens apple uses too, fyi.

As for voice actions, it's always been a semi-functioning feature in technology and, IMO, a cheesy gimmick I'd never want to be seen using, lol.. But I respect the spirit of the thread in that if that's what you want to see, then that's what you want, lol. It's all good :)

Jellybean and that all Galaxy Nexus devices are getting it within 3 months.

I'll keep dreaming.

While I agree that the iPad UI is boring, the apps for the iPad are far superior to android's atm.

I just received one as a gift from my girlfriend, and we use them a lot at my work place. While i would never humor apple with my own money, a gift is a gift :p. Plus They make for extremely useful tools in the IT dept. The iPad is actually the one apple device that I'd prefer over any android tablet atm because of the reasons above.

erm to keep it on track, I'm looking forward to jellybean and the majel project. Hopefully some light is shed on those two things

In my humble opinion, for Google to make a splash at all they need to announce a way to update all phones in an EXTREMELY timely manner.

They can announce Jelly Bean/4.1/whatever but with ICS only on 7% of devices, it would be absolutely ridiculous for them to release a new OS.

Google needs to follow-up on that "Android Update Alliance" BS and really show us that they're committed to giving users the latest software.

I want to repeat this: Only seven percent of Android users are on the latest version.

Fix it. I don't care how, just fix it. Throw some weight around with the carriers and OEMs and fix it. NO ONE will care about Jellybean because essentially no one will be getting it.

THAT is what I want from Google. If Apple is doing anything right, it's their standardized updates process. They know how to do it.

While true, it doesn't excuse the fact other companies don't put those awesome displays on upcoming laptops like Apple is.
