Well, i'm currently #8 on RadioScrap's Waiting list (said they are only getting 1-2 in a week), and the Sprint store said they "MIGHT" be getting some today but aren't sure so they told me to call later.

Just got mine about three hours ago. I live Lubbock, Texas which is a decent-sized city (225,000) that's two-plus hours from another city of any consequence.

Long story short, and a refrain with which I'm sure most of you are familiar, I couldn't find a single EVO in town -- I called the Best Buy and six or seven Sprint stores. On a lark, I called the Sprint store in a small town (Levelland) about 40 miles away and, amazingly enough, they had one in stock.

So I drove my happy tuchus to Levelland and picked it up. I major league lucked out.

I've been a dedicated Windows Mobile user for the last three years or so but, after playing with the EVO for a few hours, am completely onboard the Android bandwagon now.

Well, no dice, not a single store got one Evo in today.

perhaps I'll have better Luck tomorrow.

Call sprint customer service, they have some. Not telesales, but account services, I promise they have some

What I did to get an EvO and I had three offers:

1. Pull up the phones numbers for all of the Radio Shack stores in your city.
2. Start calling them. When you get someone live who handles phones say these exact words: " Listen John/Jane (what ever their name is) I have $forty reasons why I need an EVO and I want to make you 40 dollars happier if you can get me one asap and put me at the top of the list please."
3. I had three stores call me back within an hour and offered me one immediately. I had to call 15 Radio Shack stores. I was one year into my sprint contract and they sold me the phone as an upgrade for $199.00 plus one free accessory.
4. My total time waiting for an Evo when I was ready for one was 32 minutes.

Also the rep who told me to come in went on break and his mgr helped me and I didnt have to pay my bribe.

You can try it with twenty bucks but that isnt much of an incentive.

Good Luck!

Mark

Don't tempt me.....

Besides I still need to find out if my not so wonderful credit rating (thanks to medical bills) is sufficient....

I sure hope it is, I'm beyond fed up with att atm, their service is getting worse practically by the day in this area.....

Getting Endless Dropped Calls, 3G Speeds slower than 56k used to be, 1 bar signals (or no signal) in places I used to get 4 bars, People calling and not getting Through then leaving important voicemails that never get delivered (never get a missed call listed either) and voicemails/text messages not getting delivered for up to a month.
(yes I have Filed Complaints, far to many.)

Snafu, call sprint, 1 800 639 6111, press 0, ask them to check your credit and if you qualify, ask them to send you an evo. They will, I promise.

As far as credit, a big factor is your history with other cell carriers, how long have you been with them and your payment history.

I have two waiting for me to pick up at UPS today. I ordered them via the phone Wednesday and would have had it Friday if UPS had used the doorbell.

UMMM I give up lol

Gratz man and enjoy.

Was suprised they got one in, (Sprint corporate store) all the other shops I was On the waiting list at said they hadn't seen one come in in 2-3 weeks.

Now I need to find a good leather pouch case for it...
Found a universal Body Glove one at radio scrap I liked the design of, but it didn't fit right.

I have the silicone case from Amazer on my EVO I actually bought it before I got my EVO and it arrived on the same day so I could put it in the case from day 1 I thought about getting a leather case that covers the phone completely as I was worried about scratching the screen since it is left exposed but once I put the case on my phone I loved the feel of it and use the ZAG Invisiasheild as well so no need to worry any more plus I now have full access to the phone so no need to pull it out of a case when someone calls.

The case has a more rubbery feel to it that plastic really feels nice to hold kinda like a tire and does not add much bulk to the phone it even looks nice as well and they come in several different colors I have the one in black. the other advantage of this case is it keeps your camera off any surface you might set the phone on so you don't have to worry about scratching the lens either.

Here's a link to the case.
