What exactly does Auto combination do?

I thought it was so that the messages would read as 1 text....instead of the multiple text.

Same issue it doesn't do that though. They still come broken up and out of order

Exactly. I have a friend that has the AT&T GN2, and his phone doesn't break up the messages. I can't figure out how to get it to work on my phone.
