So I've been going up and Down L.A. for the past couple weeks and noticed that all the folks I run into are either carrying extra batteries or charger packs ranging in sizes from small to completely Over kill, so I wanted to get an idea of what everyone across the world is carrying on there expeditions =) I just went ahead and ordered myself one of these

The note 2 is all I need. Battery is a powerhouse.

I carry a 9000 mAh external battery. I've seen other players keep the battery in a jacket pocket and run the charging cable down a sleeve. That's hardcore.

Walking around for a few hours in 20-degree weather drains even my Note II's battery.

Just one extra battery for my Galaxy S3. And, of course, the car charger when I am in the car.

Spare battery my Mrs. Samsung and and extra battery a paper Mapsco to mark portals and mark control lvl. And a Red bull

Before I head out I always charge up, but I carry a charger, a bit of cash, bottle of water, an aseptic box of soy or almond milk, and a few granola bars or trail mix. Pregnant trekking isn't safe without all the food stuffs.

I have found that using two devices is a really really good way to conserve battery life, as long as you can tether.

I use my mobile smartphone (Galaxy Nexus HSPA in my case) as a mobile hotspot (with password, of course) and I use my tablet (Nexus 7 in my case) to run Ingress.

This increases the amount of battery life by at least a factor of 3 and keeps the smartphone from running too hot (assuming that you are in an area with a good cell signal)
