What Happened to 1gb of RAM

Im curious... The iPad is advertised as having 256MB of RAM.

I cant imagine the OS, Apps, and GPU are sharing 256.. Anyone know for sure?

I'm satisfied with performance so this isn't a big deal to me but when charts are released comparing the iPad side by side with only 256mb - I think its deceiving.

My Atrix has 800 MB available. Sad that the Xoom has less.

The Atrix is running android 2.2 and it has a 4 inch screen, if it didn't have more available RAM than the XOOM then THAT would be sad

A more sophisticated operating system coupled with a screen size thats 2.5 times bigger is undoubtedly going to use more resources

The Atrix has a lot of power behind it in order to support the Webtop stuff, so you're just comparing a tablet to a phone.
