What happened to my Sprint GS5 download icon?

My Sprint GS5 suddenly lost the Download icon

It just disappeared. I don't consider myself an expert in Android, but I'm not helpless, either.

I'd like to restore it. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Are you talking about the Downloads app icon in the App Drawer? Or was it on the homescreen?

Go to the App Manager, and make sure you didn't somehow disable the Download Manager.

I'm not sure what happened to mine either, but you can go to your "my files" app and then scroll down a little to see "download history".

I can't say I remember having a download icon on my S5, I had one on my S3. You can find Downloads in the My Files folder icon, there is a download history link on the main page when it launches.

Mine disappeared, too. Oddly, the "myfiles" download history didn't show recent traffic, but I can still see it in Opera. Bottom line is the download icon on the notification screen is solid gone. This is the only thread I've found even noticing it, and I've found no guidance on restoring it.

thanks for the replies ! I did check the App Manager first. I can find the Download icon in my "All" apps list, but when I open it, it shows 0.00 data, 0.00 cache, 0.00 everything. I can turn it off, or force a stop, but when I turn it back on, it's still all 0s.

It isn't the end of the world, I suppose, but I can't figure out where it went or why. I am 99.9% sure I didn't accidentally drag it into the trash. I can find my downloads in My Files, I just liked using the app to keep up with stuff, or find stuff easily.

Maybe it's a stealth "improvement"? I'm still on 4.4.2, not rooted, I know my limitations. ;-) If any of you really skilled folks has an idea what I could have done (possible user error), or what could have caused it, I would appreciate it. I've learned a lot of tips and tricks for my Android stuff here on AC over the last few years, so thanks for all of that, too!

Download Manager is separate from Downloads in the App Manager. If there's a separate list for Disabled or Turned Off apps, look there and make sure Download Manager isn't there.

Both downloads and download manager are running on my phone, but the notification screen download icon has disappeared. It happened within the last two days.
