What happens if I install the OTA over Apex 1.3.0?

I'm running Apex 1.3.0 on my rooted Froyo and thought that under these circumstances, I could not even get an OTA, but I went to look (under about phone, system updates) and it tried to download the update. I said no, and it said we'll try again in an hour. What happens if I just install the update over my Apex? I have a straight Froyo Bootstrap backup that I made before I installed Apex, but I still wonder if anyone has run the OTA update right over a rooted ROM?

It will download but it will not install, been there done that.
