What happens if I log out of my Google account on my phone?

Do things stop working? I dont use any google tools (mail, drive, etc.). I just dont want the linkage maintained.

If you sign out, you'll lose the ability to install new apps and any app updates are likely to not install until you sign in. You also lose the ability to locate and remotely lock/wipe your device should it be stolen, as well as losing the benefit of factory reset protection (inability to log in with any account besides yours if the device is factory reset).
