What have you found in froyo?

I've noticed a few distinct things (some pointed out already):
- Delay between shutting off and turning on is gone (YES!!!)
- Turned on much faster.
- The app switcher is very pretty.
- Swype messed up, but I fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling.
- There is an update all option in the Market app, which is absolutely monumental for us with dozens upon dozens of apps.
- With Eclair, my email would not update unless I opened the app and manually refreshed it. Dont know if that was my Evo or Eclair, but its fixed now. This is the case with the Facebook app and maybe a few others.

And theres the obvious like Flash and stuff. Scrolling seems much, much smoother and also, when I kill all tasks with Task Manager, if there is anything "active" such as Navigation or a music app, it won't close them.

What delay. My delay after turning the phone on and off is still there...takes like a full minute almost to come back on. Am I turning it off wrong?

I'm having a horrible problem with iHeartRadio after the update...grr. I really loved free radio.

Im having browser crash again left and right even with plugin off.
Pretty sad update in my opinion wish I would of stayed 2.1

Sync All !!! Nice little find as I was wishing for this.
Widget / Sync All - not opening the accounts & sync to hit that button. Just a quick Sync All widget. Nice when I need to ensure I have the latest and that things that I do sync quickly with google.

I DON't like the new text message format where they dropped the send button. I often find a need to edit, but ended up sending the message before finished a couple of times because of the placement of the "send" button now. It's extra close to the composition area edge.

Update All in market is sweet. Also, the choice now to automatically update is there!

Re: Mobile Data Widget
Mine is working fine. Just tested and off/on it went.
I'm using the same widget that was on the screen before I updated to 2.2.

I'm on the "stock" stuff - nothing special before or now.
I'd suggest removing and adding back the widget. Restart the phone after that if needed and then try.

Colored Gmail labels

Now Gmail offers colored labels to match your online experience.

A few things missing...

A few things I've found that are actually missing are:
-HTC's search bar widget is gone. Basically like the Google search bar but black to match Sense.
-Ability to use stock Android Home instead of Sense has been taken away. You used to be able to go HTC Sense under applications, Force Close, Clear Defaults and it would let you choose stock Home, but now there is no way. Bummer.
-Holding Menu while on the home screen no longer brings up the keyboard like it used to. Not really point in it doing that in the first place so nbd.
-My battery has been draining much faster in standby, it's like my phone isn't actually in standby. I think it is the live wallpaper. I've noticed it keeps running in standby when it used to suspend during standby. This only happens with the stock Live Wallpapers for some reason. If you want to test it yourself, make a mental note of where things that move are when you turn off your screen, if you turn it back on and they have moved, then it's continued to run in standby. Live Wallpapers I have downloaded don't do this.
-Double clicking a Flash video used to maximize the video, but now you have to hold down on the video to select full-screen. Little more cumbersome and the background is white instead of black.

Anyways, I'm not trying to be negative, I would list the countless improvements, but everybody has already done that. I'll post the few things I didn't see anybody mention :-):

-The smaller skin for the Calendar and News widgets are vertically larger so there is less space around them and they are slightly different looking.
-The default album artwork for music without an album image is now higher resolution with a green music note instead of white, also I think the icons some of the view categories are different
-Icons for Sprint apps are now higher resolution
-You can see what has been using your battery the most in percentages under Settings
-There is an option to view Flash automatically, disable, or load only when you click on an place-holding arrows
-Review comments in Marketplace are now in a separate tab and you can click them to vote them helpful or unhelpful in addition to reporting spam. I like this. I hate when I read a review where the idiot is using a program incorrectly or can't read.

I have been reading, but Have not seen this one posted yet, and kind of supprised me a bit tonight.

You now get notification alerts while on the phone (text message beep while in phone call)
It used to bug me I didn't get them in 2.1.

In the app market, screenshots no longer rotate when you rotate the phone. This is a welcome improvement... in the past, you couldn't view landscape screenshots in landscape orientation (without tilting your head) because they'd rotate on you when you rotated the phone to landscape.

What does the "automatic update" in the market apps do? Will it actually install updates or notify us about them or what?

Have not seen this posted - when you get a voicemail (I use Sprint, not Google Voice), the voicemail icon in the notifications bar shows the voicemail count in a little green dot over the voicemail icon.

I feel stupid asking but what do you mean by multi-touch on the keyboard?

Allowing you to press the next key on the keyboard while you are trying and it registers before you remove your finger off of the last key. Basically, you can press two keys at once.

Might be a dumb question...is it a custom rom that enables the white status bar? For some reason, I thought that was something you could change in 2.2

I have experienced a weird issue since getting Android 2.2 in the OTA update. When I press some people's picture in both the People app and Google Talk a phone icon shows up twice even if I have only one number for them. When I select the second phone icon an option comes up asking me to select an application to complete the action. I think it is wanting to send an instant message of some sort but Google Talk is not an option as an application to open (which is what I would want to use). It seems to only occur when Google Talk is up and running and only to people that are signed into Google Talk at the time. Any advice?
