I won't be able to give you specific recommendations for your region, since I'm in the US and don't know much about brands that are more commonly sold in other countries. But in general, the best phones for reliable updates and security will be Pixels and flagship Samsung phones. Stay away from Moto, and I think Nokia is also pretty poor at support. Not sure about Xiaomi -- @Madd62 could weigh in on that.

Samsung Galaxy A35 5G seems a good new solidly made all - around device which can be had for the £260 - 280 in the UK. I'm considering it.

Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G or Poco X6 from Xiaomi can fall in that price bracket.

I don't know about Belgium in piticuller, bit 4G's not going away anytime soon. 5G is better to have than not have, but unless you're looking for very fast Internet, it's probably not important.
