What is APP Lock?

Last night a new widget appeared on my home screen. It's called APP Lock. I didn't download it, it's not in my app drawer, my tools folder, my app list, or my play store list. I've done a reverse image search and found nothing. Lookout doesn't detect anything. Malwarebytes doesn't detect anything. Any ideas? I don't want to reset my phone if I can avoid it. Thank you!

Re: What us APP Lock?

IIRC its an app that runs in the background and its primary function is to set passwords for each app individually. Does it show up in your app manager or battery usage monitor? maybe try accessing it that way and uninstall it.

That however doesn't answer how it got there in the first place.

Who is your carrier? Carriers have bloatware that allows them to install apps onto your phone.
Are you running a battery boost or RAM boost type of app? If so uninstall it, they are unnecessary and most of them serve as a back door for all sorts of undesirable app activity, without user consent.
