What is custom os

I started downloading it and turned my phone off now it's acting crazy

Welcome to the forums. You were probably in Download mode if you have a Samsung. Unless you were pushing files to the device with a PC, you didn't load a custom OS.

As for your device acting up, I'm not sure what the cause is.
