Android Central Question

My S6 fell out my pocket in a taxi....and I had just added back up my phone to my to do list....oh well.....these seem to be my best options on Sprint....aint really moved by anything available to spend flagship money....not a super user....out of the following core functions, I probably use them in this order
1. phone
2. audio consumption
3. navigation
4. web browsing
5. apps
6. camera
7. video consumption
8. content creation

Being that I enjoy carrying my DSLR less and less places, I may care more about the camera in the future usage.

Sincere thanks

It may be a toss up between the two. Because you specifically listed content creation, have you considered any of the V-series phones from LG? They are targeted at content creators with some of the best audio and video capture on the market, with a caveat. If you want point and shoot functionality and automated recording, then go with Samsung. That has traditionally been LG's weak point. If you want full manual controls of photos, video, and audio, LG can't be beat. In fact, I'd pick my V20 over either of those two phones.

For audio consumption, LG is also one of the best out there with wired audio, thanks to the quad DAC (It's for sure on the V-series phones, and I think introduced on the G-series with the G6 or 7). If you use Bluetooth or the built in speaker, it'll likely be a toss up again.

The S8 is already dated so it won't see another OS update. Security patches also may not go past 3 years from when it was released.

You posted some of the things that you care about but are asking a subjective question. I would try to either find a video comparison on YouTube of the two side by side or simply check for pure review videos of each. Depending on what else might be important to you with this purchase you might want to consider the age of each and whether there will be any future updates, how many and the type of support either might see in the future. That's based off of Mike Dee's comment who seems to know a little about one of the devices.

the LG hands down. software updates. hardware warranty. better internals better AI in my opinion. LG is super underrated. I would buy one if I wasn't still on my p20 pro . but I'm probably heading back to blackberry lol
