What is the IMEISV

I have a Samsung Galaxy Halo phone. It has a IMEI and a IMEISV listed on the phone. Is the IMEISV part of the IMEI or does it represent a special function. If it is part of the IMEI where is it placed in front or behind the IMEI. Thanks
