What is the latest version of Android officially supported by ATT

My wife has a Samsung Captivate that she has never updated ever since she got it. She is on AT&T and has a stock phone.

Her phone says it has:
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: I897UCKB1
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
Build number: FROYO.UCKB1

Is there a more updated version of Android officially available through AT&T? If so how can she update her phone?

Go into settings and check to see if there is a software update. She's running froyo right now and that may be the ceiling for the captivate. I don't know. If there is an update she may have to do it via kies(a Samsung app). I would either google it or use the forum search feature to be sure. Good luck.

Gingerbread is officially supported, nothing beyond it.. You can upgrade it via samsung kies

2.3.5, build UCKK4.

The updater in the phone won't find major updates, they force you to use the Kies desktop software for that (stupid AT&T!). You can find Kies on the product support page at https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ers%2Fproduct%2FSGH-I897ZKAATT&token=knvBXtZk along with USB drivers if you need them.
