What is this beeping sound?

So I've had my S3 for a couple of months now. When I'm in the car, using the OEM Samsung 1 amp car charger and Google Maps / Navigation, every few seconds I hear a soft double-beep, similar to the one you would hear when plugging in the charger. It's not consistent with speed or time, more random if you will, and I can't figure out where it's coming from, other than it doesn't seem to happen when not plugged into the charging cable. It happens wether the battery is at 100% or not.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this beep, and can it be turned off?

This is the cable I'm using:
Amazon.com: Samsung OEM Fast Charging 1.0 Amp Car Charger with Coil Cord for Samsung Galaxy S3 S III, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S2 S II, Skyrocket, Galaxy Nexus and other Micro USB Devices - Bulk Packaging: Cell Phones & Accessories

Could it be that maybe it's making a bad connection? I mean, it connects and charges then disconnects itself for a split second then reconnects causing all the beeping.

Try a different car charger and see if the beeping goes away. If it does, then you know it's the cable.
