What is this purple blotch on my Samsung Galaxy S5?

Purple blotch on my samsung galaxy s5

I dropped my phone earlier picked it up it wasnt cracked but since dropping it a purple blotch has come over my screen but over a hour this blotch tripled in size, im now scared to turn it back on.......what has happened

Welcome to Android Central.

It may be that the components of the screen are separating. But bear in mind that the drop may have done other damage as well, so that a screen replacement or repair may not be worthwhile. Diagnosis by a qualified and reputable repairer would probably be the best thing.
