I have the galaxy s7 sm-g930p and I love the phone except for it's awful battery life. I know that I have the snapdragon 820 variant, which tends to get worse battery life than the exynos 8890. I get 2h30m of screen on time at the absolute maximum. I have deleted all unncessary apps and clear ram often. I am at a loss.

Welcome to the forums as a new member! What does your battery profile look like minus the on screen time?

I just assumed that's normal for our phone. I get 2.5-3 hours screen on time max with my T-Mobile variant.

I'm at 63% and only had 1h12m on screen, 4h30m on battery total (by the end of typing this I'm at 60%)

Yea my battery life is very similar. The S7 Edge does have a much larger battery, so I always assumed it was that. But then again, I've seen some crazy stats for the regular S7 battery (like 4-5 hours screen on time). I honestly have never gotten that much on any phone I've owned.

For me, it's not too much of an issue because I work in an office and have constant access to my charger. But I do wish the regular S7 had better battery life.

first, stop clearing the ram. it actually makes battery life worse. the phone is fairly good at regulating apps. second 2.5 hours is not good but not out of bounds of you use it hard. what are you doing with your phone on a daily basis. I have found the S7 is decent work battery until games are played or uploading and downloading files.Screenshot_20170709-162444.png

I just went through this with tmo. They had me run in safe mode (no apps) to make sure it wasn't a bad app. It wasn't. They assumed hardware and sent me a new phone under warranty. Talk to your carrier. You shouldn't lose me than 10% an hour.

It's the weirdest thing, today I used my phone a lot (mind you only on wifi) and completely drained the battery, but got almost 5h SOT. I'm happy and very confused

My guess since your screen shots show 3g, that you have poor service where you are and phones draw a lot more power when struggling to stay connected to a network.

I posted my stand by drain getting worse suddenly in other thread. It used to drain only 3~4 overnight on WiFi. But from couples weeks ago, it drained like 20~30% doing nothing overnight. I tried FC, cache wipe with little to no effect. But I found turning off WiFi stopped excessive stand by drain. I think others with SoT less than 3hrs probably are having bad stand by drain too.

I'm on at&t and I read that some others on this carrier had the similar issue with S6, S7. But my wife's J3 (2017 model with Exynos 7570) seems to be amazing in stand by drain compared to mine, that one has only 2600 mAh battery. I think Exynos being superior to Snapdragon in battery is probably true. But this is probably bad OS update issue with at&t.
