What is wrong with my LG G3 remote?

what is wrong with my lg g3 remote

I got an lg g3 and the quick remote doesnt work at all, i have to aim exactly in front of the tv sensor to get it on... But with my friends galaxy s5 it works with no problems from every corner almost... Why doesnt the remote on the lg g3 not good... Als if i wanna let my phone learn from the remote for the setup box from kpn it doesnt work either, it says that it succesfully done his thing but then i try it and it wont start up... just not possible..
Please tell me if mine is broken or if the lg g3 remote is just ****ty

Welcome.
Strangely enough, I have never had a need to use the Quick Remote on my G3.
Do you have a case on the device that may be interfering?
