Some of you might be wondering why we're deviating from the polls that currently exist, and trust me, we've got good reason. The last time we ran a "Best Of Android Apps" article was about a year ago, and the Android landscape has changed pretty significantly since then.

These polls are starting nice and fresh, so we can get a true idea of what apps are worthy of being called Android best, so sit back, buckle up, and get voting.

But u never publish a winners list. Oh yes issimo is way better

I am really enjoying Boid right now, i know its only in beta or alpha (can't remember lol) but it is really good.

it's not necessarily a dedicated app, but I really like Android Pro Widgets. It gives me a nice readable semi-transparent resizable and scrollable list of my Twitter feed. Personally for a free app I think it has lots of functionality and shortcuts and comes in a clean minimalistic package.

Android Pro Widgets.

Definitely Boid right now. I can't wait to see what Carbon brings to the table and I really want to try Alphascope.

Out of the ones thus far I've tried ( Twitter for Android, UberSocial, TweetDeck, TweetCaster) I like TweetCaster the best...

I'm really quite torn. I've tried Twitter, Plume, Twicca, Tweetdeck, Tweakdeck, Seesmic, Tweetcaster, and Hootsuite, and I liked Tweakdeck the best because it has some improved functionalities from Tweetdeck. However, I really wish it had push notifications, which is the only reason I've been using the official Twitter. Twitter for Android has consistent lag on my Droid X and it doesn't support in-app Instagram previews like Tweakdeck does.

I hope Twitter adds more functionality to their app pronto. Or at least they update Tweetdeck in the near future.

i used to swear by tweakdeck but decided to give plume a run for a week to see if it worked better. but so far, the loading times, the lack of tweet marker working, and no instagram in-line previes will bring me back to tweakdeck sooner than i anticipated.

I really enjoyed TweakDeck, but when I post photos to Twitter or FB I want it to use it's native upload service. Seesmic does that well enough, but I'm a sucker for push notifications. So, currently I'm sticking with the official app.

actually, now I've found a new twitter widget:

Minimal Twidget

It also has a transparent background with an ICS theme, minimal design and when you click on an individual tweet, it will show attached images or display links in a mini browser with a shortcut to launch in the regular browser. From the expanded tweet you can launch any installed twitter client by pressing on the user's avatar. So far between this and Plume/the official Twitter app, it's a very simple setup.

Other: tweetlanes

I used to use twicca when I had a droid incredible when it was released but after going to an iphone and then back to a galaxy nexus there are some things i can't do without such as pull to refresh and a nice clean look with the entire phone

I'm using Tweetlanes right now, I really love the holo design and the UI is intuitive and fast!
