What is your next phone?

My thoughts exactly. Do you believe htc and Google are aware of the problems Lollipop brought? I would say it almost broke a perfect phone. Why can't they just fix the things the update ruined and put it back how it was?!
Yeah, apart from the cosmetics look, lollipop doesn't really give me a radically different experience over kit Kat. Kit Kat did everything I needed for modern life in 2015. But with all the hoopla over lollipop you'd be forgiven for thinking that it is an essential upgrade. It isn't....wish I never upgraded, it definitely broke a good phone. HTC built up very good reputation for the speed of sense on Kit Kat. Considering htc's financial problems you would think they would want to maintain bragging rights on as many areas as possible...

The problem is that many users I ask on forums regarding the battery life and lag problems say that they haven't noticed any difference, which I find surprising since for me it's night and day. I'm not saying I currently have a bad experience, specially when compared to other phones but it was simply great to have a phone with which I could get to bed with 30 per cent of battery life left and blazing fast performance, particularly for me since I came from a galaxy s3 and s4.

Yeah, I haven't noticed much difference from Kit Kat to Lollipop. Phone is still fast and battery life is decent as long as I'm in good service, which is the same. I'm pretty good at disabling apps and services I don't use, so I'm sure that helps. Again, I'm betting HTC gets it really right on all fronts with the M10 in March......

I don't really care about the m10. I care about the phone I have, which I love. A brand with loyal customers has to properly support current products and not care with the future ones only (not that they have been releasing fantastic phones meanwhile, but that's another story).

No major complaints with my M8. Almost jumped on the recent V10 deal, but the size of the phone killed it for me.
I had an M7, and that was perfect. the M8 was borderline but tolerable. Anything over 5inch is a no-go for me.
Also, definitely need an SD card slot (curse you Nexus!).
Nothing on the horizon fits that criteria, so I guess I'm sticking with the M8 for a while longer.

I loved my rooted M8 running CleanRom. It was a great phone, but chose to upgrade to a Note 5,which is an even better device.

Not sure if you saw my two earlier posts in this thread, but I just got the G4 and couldn't be happier. It's essentially the V10's little brother with much the same power under the hood. The G4 is larger than the M8, which was a big concern for me. I preferred a smaller footprint like the M8, but it seems all the flagship phones with the options I wanted (sd card support, LCD, IR blaster, OIS, etc) were going to be big. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the G4 has worked out. It has all the features of the M line and then some. I don't even miss the stereo speakers as much as I thought. It fits easily in my pocket, and possibly better than the M8 did (without a case, that is), and has some nice home touch button customizations to help with one handed operation. Namely a button to activate the notification shade pull down to see your notices.

Seriously, check the G4 out. It seems like options are limited for the specs we seem to want. I conceded that I'd have to sacrifice size for performance/options, but it's worked out well for me. I think the rear power and volume buttons are a little awkward, but that's about it.

And the fact you can currently get $600 in rebates for the G4 when Verizon is only selling it for $550 doesn't hurt either. :D

I'm still enjoying the M8. Fast, nice screen that I can see in sunlight wearing sunglasses, very good battery life, great sound...
The replacement will most likely be the M10, unless they do something drastic from the info we have so far. The best news from the A9 for me was that they got their stuff together in the camera department. An M10 with the SD820, memory expansion, Boomsound, and really good camera would be ideal....

I'd seen it before, but immediately wrote it off because of the size. And yeah, looking at it in depth now, once again, it looks like something I would love to have, but not at 5.5 inches. At 5.0, the M8 was already borderline. T-mobile (my current carrier) has it $480 right now, and it has the sweet Band 12 LTE that mine doesn't, but sadly, the screen does kill it for me. I'll definitely keep LG on my radar going forward in case they launch a phone in my size in the future.
