What keyboard are you guys using?

I've tried several different keyboards over the years including the stock keyboards, SwiftKey & Gboard and I always come back to Swype. IMHO nothing else compares.

I've always been this way too...except now I'm not so sure.
I like that Swype added the number row, but adding that takes away the little alternate characters from the rest of the keyboard...which doesn't make sense to me at all.

The swype-off-keyboard-to-capitalize feature was great...so why DID they drop that?

One thing Swype does that I haven't seen in others is when you finish typing a word, if you hit backspace it deletes the whole word instead of just the last letter. I wish others did that.

I may have to give Swype another try. Swiftkey was great back in the day but it seems bulky now.

The number row can be turned off in the settings and it restores the alternate characters.

The swype-off-keyboard-to-capitalize feature was nice but I like the way it works now.
Editing the Case of a Word

Change the case of a word after you enter it by tapping the word and then swyping from the*"Swype key"*to the Shift key. A Word Choice List with capitalization options will display, allowing you to choose lower case, Capitalized, or ALL CAPS.

Im going to give SwiftKey a second chance because Gboard is so slow and sometimes will think I'm swiping instead of typing because I'm trying to go too fast for it to keep up.

I was a longtime Swiftkey user, but when Gboard added emoji prediction a while back I switched to give it a chance. It has a lot of features I like, but sometimes the autocorrect is a little too aggressive. I'm still using it.

How do you set up emoji prediction? I like the ability to search for emoji, but didn't know it could predict them...

But the thing is, I want both. Gboard and the LG Keyboard will show both the number row AND the alternate characters on the keyboard if you want. I don't know about Swiftkey.

Not the way I like it. It was easier to just swype up off the keyboard from the first letter to capitalize a word. If you have to do it afterwards, it becomes much less efficient.

The capitalization method about selection the word, then press the SWYPE to keyboard method has always been an option. The ability to drag over the keyboard allows to put in the capitalized word during sentence creation, not having to go back over there text to make certain words capitalized. It's a efficiency boost to put the capitalized word during sentence creation. This has stopped me using or recommending SWYPE. All the keyboards are now basically the same. This was SWYPE's major differentiator from the other, other then Nuance voice, (previously known as Dragon Dictation, a renown PC Dictation software). Which I rarely, if next to never, used. I was a SWYPE'ing beast! No longer... Sigh.

Gboard is much more smooth than Swiftkey now, but Swiftkey has better predictions. I had Gboard way back in the day when it first came out and loved it, Swiftkey stole my heart for a few years but it seems like Gboard is better now, with user experience.

I felt the same, that SwiftKey had better predictions, but I'm finding that the longer I use Gboard, the better the predictions are. Which is I guess the way it should work, right?

I still struggle with getting the correct upper case when I want it, but I think that's just on me. I just found this link with some tips on using Gboard, so I'm going to look over these when I have time. I think I've used SwiftKey so long, I have habits from using that which I'll have to break. Think this will help me a bunch! Looks like it was last updated in March.

I've gotta say I've tried them all but always seem to gravitate back to Gboard. Really in love with the speed and simplistic layout. 2nd would probably be BlackBerry keyboard. Having never owned a BlackBerry personally I really enjoyed the flick typing.
