What made you buy the S6 instead of the S6 Edge?

I keep my S6 in a Defender case and have Zagg glass screen protector on it. Removed the Defender plastic screen protector. Defender is required because if 7 grandchildren, 7 years old and under. At the time I purchased, could not figure out how to child proof the Edge. I don't think anymore explanation is required.

Otterbox makes a Symmetry case for the GS6E and I've seen a tempered glass screen protector as well. I believe that Ballistic makes a rugged case as well.

I like the looks and coolness factor of the edge and wanted one until I had hands on with both s6 and s6e. I liked the feel better on the regular s6. Didn't like how the when watching videos wrapped around the edges on the edge. Plus $100 extra for just some gimmick to have the edge was just not gonna do it.

Bring some of the features from the note edge to the s6e then maybe I would have gone that way. I for one tho, have no regrets on my 64gb white S6.

Regular S6 for me. Don't need to pay more for curves that won't really give me much more added functionality or processing power. If it made tea, I might have been swayed.

I chose the Active over both, because I wanted the ruggedness and protection it offers, along with the battery it has in it.

After seeing the demo units at AT&T and how scratched up they were they just didn't appeal to me.

To me, the ONLY thing the Edge offered me over the normal S6 was the "cool factor" due to it's unique look. Functionally, the "advantages" of the Edge mean nothing to me ... completely useless features.

In all other aspects, (again, to ME) the normal S6 wins ... price, feel, screen, etc. Even holding the S6 is easier than the Edge because you're not trying to flat-palm the phone to keep the sides of your hands/fingers from accidentally registered a click or swipe on the edge of the screen ... not to mention the distortion on the screen edges due to the curved glass, and the effectively smaller viewing area since the sides of the Edge screen are turned down.

Right now, the Edge seems like a gimmick to me ... MAYBE in the future, side/edge screens will mean something, and there will be real, useful features associates w/ the side/edge portions ... but right now, not so much.

I mean, really ... who can wake up, roll over, and focus on that tiny edge to read a clock or notification? I have a hard time with a normal sized clock when I'm just waking up LOL.

but again, the Edge DOES look really cool ... but that's where it stops for me.

I wish that I had bought the regular S6 over the edge. I knew before I bought the edge, that the tempered glass protection availability would be slim to none. So far this is the case. I really like to the tempered glass because of the feel of it and it makes cleaning the screen much easier. If I had to buy another S6 it would differently be the regular one.

Well I got the edge on craigslist and couldn't pass up the price, $400 for a new white 64gb edge. After using it for a while I think I like the regular S6 better.

I honestly don't see the point of the curved edges, it's just a gimmick IMO and the features associated with it aren't even all that useful.

I want to pick up galaxy s6 or s6 edge but can't decide which one to get. I feel edge does look slimmer and design looks much better. Would you guys pick up regular if they're same price?

This. As I said before I have huge hands and fingers and my hands ALREADY go over the edge of my screen on the regular s6. I couldn't imagine what would have happened if I had gotten the edge instead

The edge looked really nice but didn't feel as well in my hand and is more fragile. The money was better spent on getting a 64GB.

I'd take the edge at the same price - just for the looks...
It feels good in my hands!

The screen isnt as functional as the note edges is. It wasnt worth the value to me. Doesnt do enough. My phone is never face down for the screen to get scratched up just to use a feature.

I dont feel having a curved screen and a few extra software features (just screams bloatware) justifies the 100+ premium over the standard phone. Also, I think the regular S6 looks better than the edge and I wont be plagued with accidentally pressing the screen while using the phone.
