So Google is updating all their apps and taking out the color. First it was messages, and I went back to textra. Now my calendar is a bland flat white picture of boringness and I hate that to. And I can't theme this, either so I have to find a different app or switch back to another OEM's device. This actually has me contemplating going back to Samsung to get some color back in the main apps plus I do miss their theme engine. I don't need a lot but this all white, just sucks.

I also think material design is a stupid name for something that is virtual. But I digress...

I just noticed that today, my calendar app has been changed. I just wish they gave you the option to theme it, have a dark mode , or something.

Saw those updates in the playstore but decided to wait for dark mode. Bright white is def not the look I want.

I have updates set to automatic, so my calendar was updated.
I don't care for the stark white either, but I'll use it until the dark mode is available
Since white uses more battery than black in Pixel 2 / 2 XL phones, you have to wonder why Google chose all this white for Material Design.

The biggest travesty is what they did to chrome browser. I'm using firefox again. :(

I've been using the Morpheon Dark theme for several years for my Chrome Browser so I already have a dark mode applied. I'll continue using my Chrome Browser.

It is definitely counter-productive.

Can you theme a chrome phone browser?

My mistake! I do my forum input on my Windows 10 computer which also uses the Chrome browser. I use the Morpheon Dark theme for Chrome on my Windows 10 computers. I seldom look at forums on my phone. All my real work is done on my Windows 10 computers. My apologies.

Lol. No worries. I have themed my Pixelbook with a dark theme as well. Looks awesome.

Dark mode, where it's dark grey and not black... Sigh
Yep, and it still sounds bland and boring. I'm seriously considering just grabbing a note 9 for the next year and calling it good just so I can theme and have some color.

I've been using Firefox a lot more anyway. Adblock plus and the reading mode make it a lot nicer to use than chrome in my opinion.

For calendar apps, I've been using Digical for a long time. Has a nice dark theme.

I'm confused - what use is a browser theme on mobile? The second you scroll down the page, the nav bar disappears anyway, so you're only looking at the design of whatever site you're viewing.

No question about that!

Use Tapatalk for the forums on your phone. It has a dark mode which is what I use.

Seems like I'm the only one who really likes the new looks. I am not a big fan of Google's dark mode. The blue and black is, off to me. I know black is better for battery but I really like the clean white look. Maybe I'm crazy.

Also I've just noticed the change in the calendar. But I like the dark theme in the messages and soon phone app.

Btw. wanted to ask you guys , does anyone has a problem with the lag when typing the app name in order to find in in the app drawer?
