Hey guys, If the rumors turn out to be true and there are a number of nexus devices released this year from different manufactures, assuming the specs are the same or similar across manufactures, what company would you chose ? Or what company would you like to see build the new nexus ?

Now that Android has progressed enough (for me) to be useable in its native naked state, I'm hoping for a device with Razr Maxx style battery life and a S3 or better camera. I'll be happy whoever makes it, but I'm rooting for HTC to come back...I just don't want another Samsung.

Honestly if the rumors are true and there's more than one Nexus, I would just choose the one with the best hardware specs and most flexible for me (i.e. will it have a removable micro-sd storage card)? All other things being equal, you get Google's vanilla android on any of them, so why not go with the best performing phone?

I wonder if Google's plans to have more than one Nexus would indicate different "tiers" of phones so to speak. For example you have an entry-level Nexus phone that would cost very cheap but you get the latest OS, and then for people willing to pay more you have "premium" hardware. There is a market for all prices of phones so I wonder if that's the idea?

Didn't we have the same rumors last year? I'll believe multiple Nexus devices when I actually see it.

Unfortunately I am (for the moment at least) tied to Verizon.

That having been said.....if there is a new nexus on Verizon...I will
buy it in a heartbeat...paying full retail so I can keep my unlimited
data plan.

HTC! Samsung build quality, especially their housing sucks ballz

Samsungs build quality is top notch. Has been for a long time. People just like to say that because of their "cheap plastic." HTC's build quality is typically over rated. Look at the slew of problema the OG EVO had

I think you're confusing build quality (more of a fit and finish thing) with reliability - those are two completely different things. Samsung handsets have always been reliable for me (they hold up well without falling apart). Call them the Honda/Toyota of phones, if you will. But the overall build quality always leaves something to be desired. Even high-end models like the G-Nex and the S III feel cheap when they shouldn't. Example: I'm always scared to pop off the battery cover on my G-Nex because it's really flimsy and I feel like I'm going to break it every time.

Samsung would earn points for fit and finish in my book if they were to do things like soft-touch back housings and brushed metal accents. HTC and LG both do things like this on their high-end devices. In an ideal world, we'd have Samsung reliability + HTC/LG build quality.

I understand what you're saying, but completely disagree with
How you're interpreting it. Yes, build quality is about fit and finish. It sounds like you're just equating it to finish. The fit plays a big part in reliability. I'll give you the GN battery door is flimsy. Other than that I have never felt a single creak in a Samsung phone. Haven't had screen lift problems, self cracking bezels, or Amy of the dozen other problems I had with my OG EVO. Build quality doesn't just apply to the luxury, but to the way Tue product is put together. My Samsung phones have been more solid than my HTC phones.

I've laid it out, here are my conditions for getting the new nexus:
-At least a 1.6 GHz Dual Core Processor
-At least 2 GB of RAM
-Expandable Storage
It's gotta have 2 out of the 3 traits listed above to catch my eye. Otherwise, I'll just buy the Galaxy Nexus for $350.
Also, if the new nexus is made by HTC, that can count as an extra trait to go for the 2/3 requirement.
Just me.

My standards are low...They'll have me at the Key Lime Pie Boot screen.:D

I'll have to wait and see what they come out with, I would prefer a Motorola but they have not proven to me they can make better hardware then Samsung. What I wish for is a Nokia with the PureView Camera.
