Motorola will almost certainly continue to operate as they have autonamously. I would not worry. This is just the beginning of the Moto X line. Functionally, the best smartphone i've personally used thus far. Now, give me a Moto 360 watch and i'm good.

Yup. I'm interested in the moto lineup this year. That rumored moto phablet has my attention as my top of the list. That with the 360 to complement it, I'll be good for the year.

I will buy Moto X-ish 5" or even 5.5" the first day it comes out. Love my Moto X, just want a slightly bigger screen with more PPI and better camera. Oh yea, and wireless charging.

Let's see it should be priced less than 400 for a 16gig model 64 gig will be less than 500. It should have a snapdragon 800 processor 5.5 inch ips display 3100 mah battery 6 lens 13mp camera run cm instead of touchwiz. Rooting the device will not void your warranty. And all that wrapped in a phone around the size of a sony z1 with what's been described as having a more premium build quality than the s5. So to me that's why it will be better a more balanced device with less fluff and gimmicks.

I agree, the OnePlus One seems to address the main issues I had with the M8 (camera, battery, screen size). I'm waiting to see the reveal on 4/23, but if the design and build quality look good then this will almost certainly be my next phone. For sub $400, there's really no competition.

I have the Note 3, and liked it so much that I went with the Note 10.1 2014 edition tablet. However... Both are still the Galaxy platform.

I would imagine very different as they bought MOTO from Google and Google kept most of the patents. Lenovo just purchased about 3800 of the patents NEC owned. The visual appearance might be the same? The sale though has not yet consummated but I am sure it will, I just hope the keep some of the MOTO quality and not give us the cheap Chinese quality I see in many phones I see advertised on the web. Time will tell with that I guess.

I was ready to buy a note 3 because I really liked it but then those complaints started appearing about call quality issues and I just decided to wait and see where those went and then when I started looking again I decided the phone was just to old and it was selling for to much $$$ used on Swappa.com. I also looked at the M8 and then backed out of that after I decided the camera was less than what I wanted. The S5 is not a doable phone as right now it only comes with 16 GB on VZW. We will see if the S5 on VZW comes out with at least 32 GB or the Note 4 comes out first on VZW. I also want to look at the Sony Experiea 2 as it is said will be / may be exclusive for a while on VZW. I have used a couple of Sony cameras but phone cameras are not the same.
