What phone should I upgrade to?

I currently have an HTC one M9 on T-mobile and it is decent, though it is certainly not my favorite phone
I am due for an upgrade in a few months and I was wondering what I should upgrade to

I have already owned an iPhone 6 (and really liked it, other than the lack of storage and SD card storage)
I'm not really sure how I feel about samsung, and I'm concerned about the S6's battery life along with other things, so that is off the table
My mom has the LG G4 and I'd prefer not to have the same phone as her
And I'm also not sure about getting a nexus phone

The only other options are pretty much the iPhone 6s/6s+ and Note 5
And like I said, I'm not sure about samsung and if the iPhone 6s still has a 16 GB base storage, that is an ABSOLUTE deal breaker!
That doesn't exactly leave me with many options. Any suggestions?

I would love to, but for some reason T-Mobile stopped selling them

If you're going high end, then I'd wait for the Note 5. Hopefully they don't botch the battery.
