Disable what ever app you aren't going to use. You won't gain any free storage space but you may cut down on some ram usage by those apps.

Disable anything which you not gonna use and don't uninstall anything with the android thumbnail some may end up with brick of your mobile.

What pre-installed apps should I not disable . . .

The ones you must not disable are impossible to disable (on stock ROM). The disable button is gray'd out for such apps. So go ahead and disable any you think are not wanted or needed. If you later find something you need will no longer function, then you can go back and re-enable the needed app. For this reason, it might be best to disable only a few at a time.
