My battery life hasn't been affected much, a slight battery drain increase when using Bluetooth but not by much, they said they were working on a fix for that issue, anyway I can still get through a full day of heavy use 5+hours of YouTube and such at high brightness and get home at night with 20 percent less (I do use Bluetooth earphones)
I'm having problems with the 3g network, I haven't seen the phone connected to 3g since I got it, and it has connected to lte and 2g. I checked with my LG g6 and I had the networks in the same configuration, I don't know what to do, the phone is compatible with my cell provider

my issue is with calls.
The phone calls out but doesn't ring for you so you cannot tell it has been answered. The calls do go through so technically it is maling calls.Nothing will be heard by eirther side. mics dont work speakesr don't work. But calls in ring & calls out ring appropriately
oh ya...the ring sound on the callers phone doesn't ring either
so don't know if it is answered.
any ideas..... Sprint and all the sprint men & women couldn't fix it. THey just switching it out but I want to know anyway what happened. ok googlr and maps and ther voice inputs hear me and speakes to me.

I'm having the same issue with the resetting over night.. Essential tells me to replace the phone, which I did. Still having the issue.. even in safe mode.. definitely software related..
Same with me.. replaced the phone as per Essential... Same issue still happening..
The phone shut down by itself without me knowing it during the day. Hopefully it's an one-off incident.
I’m now running the Oreo beta, and while it’s happening less frequent, it stil randomly does it when I’m not paying attention.
I'm disliking this phone more and more with each day. At first I considered it the best phone I've ever owned, now the worst. And it's all camera related. Outside of the camera, there's the occasional freeze-up or hang but nothing major. The camera issues though... wow. Not only does it take perfect lighting to result in a decent picture... but half the time the phone freezes while taking a picture, requiring a hard reset. It's unbelievably frustrating to pull out your phone, take a picture, only to have it freeze (while not saving that picture) and you are forced to hold that power button down for 10 seconds to reset.
Sadly, after the black Friday sales, this phone is selling for 250-300 on ebay.. so I'm not ready to take that kind of loss just yet, and will have to stick with this. My next phone will be a proven company that puts out a reliable, quality phone.
Oh and PS, I got a 360 degree camera, it doesn't work of course. The light on it never turns green, just stays blue.

Mine never makes a sound when I plug in the charger even with the "charging sounds" setting on. Is this a known issue?

Had the scrolling issue on Nougat. Seems to have been fixed on Oreo beta 2. Battery life has also improved.

That setting is broken in Nougat and not a problem unique to the Essential.
sRGB support is up to the individual app. Try the following URL in both Chrome and Firefox and note the results: ChromaChecker - Web Browser Tester

NFC isn't working. Haven't been able to use Android beam or NFC tags. Settings becomes unresponsive if I try to disable or enable Android beam.
I imagine you know that NFC is at the bottom of the phone instead of the top like all other phones? I thought mine was broken too initially until I realized that.

Yeah, NFC doesn't work for beam, tags or Android Pay no matter how I position it on the bottom. Works on my 3T and Nexus 6 in 2 seconds. Already started the return process with Amazon.

So I have the white phone, bought cyber Monday and brought to me here in China by a pilot friend. The phone is good, but has issues.
Touch screen doesn't register my touch a lot. Nothing like this would happen on any iPhone.
OFO bike app locks up A LOT and that is a problem since i need it to get around here in China.
I cannot download android updates by any wifi or 4G means, on or off a VPN. Is there a way to hook my phone up to my computer and download the update?
Camera still sucks. Need a quick photo? IMPOSSIBLE! It really is atrocious.

I had the phone for ONE week. I admit that I generally have crap reception in my office, but it's usually good enough for music streaming and slowly buffering a video. But with the PH-1? I couldn't text, listen to anything, receive phone calls with any quality (and for record, yes I was using an application to actually measure signal strength and not relying on the bars).
THAT is something well documented with this device and essentials only reply is that "it's no worse or better than others". What kind of BS response is that. I admit, it was arguably the most beautiful and we'll built device in recent memory; but functionally considered it just can't cut the mustard.
