What routers work best with the Chromecast?

So I've tried chromecast on two different routers. On one it works flawless(not my router, its a verizon router) and even changes input channel when I cast. My router is a belkin, and it works sometimes. Sometimes I need to reset the router. Sometimes it takes 10 tries for my chromecast app to find the chromecast on my router.

My question is, is there a router that works best with Chromecast?

Works fine on my Asus router. Belkin seems to get a disproportionate amount of complaints when routers are discussed on these forums.

I use D-Link routers, Chromecast works fine with them.

Thanks for the advice.

Yeah my belkin definitely has issues, and for this it will be replaced. I would like the most compatible router as the experience changes a lot based on router.

I have a Belkin f9K series router. To get it to work with Chromecast I had to type "http://912.168.2.1" into my browser - that connects you to your router so you can do 2 things. First, click on "Firewall" on the left, and turn it off (make sure you hit apply). Then click on "restart router" - it takes about 60 seconds. Then run the Chromecast app. Only thing that has worked for me. No more Belkins after this one fries.

Dink DIR-860L ac1200 works fine with my Chromecast

I am still using an old Netgear WNR2000v3 for 2 laptops, Blu-ray CC and 2 cellphones with no lag or problems.

Just ordered the TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless N300 at $19.99 from Amazon based on your post. If this works as good as the reviewers say it does, the other manufacturers are ripping us off.

In varying places I have used my Chromecast with a D-Link DIR-825 rev. B, a Netgear N900, and a Netgear R7000 (which while pricey is a great piece of hardware) without issue.

My buddy has had issues with a Ubee Modem/Wi-Fi Router combo provided by his Cable Provider and had to put the modem in Bridge Mode and install his own Wi-Fi Router (a Netgear R8000) for his Chromecast to function properly.

It's most likely not the brand of router thats the problem as everything is built on standards but settings that are causing problems.
