What should I do to prevent encryption when upgrading my Moto G?

I heard today that Google will be rolling out Lollipop on devices from tomorrow, and the Moto G seems to be one of them. But I don't want my phone encrypted, which is the only issue, which I know will be default for the next version. How can I prevent the encryption when installing?

Also, if you were to enter the wrong pin to decrypt a phone more than 3, 4, 10, or any other amount of times, does it force you to loose data? Can the pin be changed like a traditional one?

Encryption will be the default for new phones, not ones that get the update. You will be fine.

I heard it from the BBC.

Google hasn't even "technically" released L for Motorola to begin the update process... I wouldn't expect it on the original moto G until late November, if not December depending on when Google releases 5.0 along with your carrier.

Now as far as encryption goes, just curious, why are you so against it?
