What T-Mobile plan will you use with the Sensation?

This 59.99 plan was supposed to be a quiet launch by T-Mobile. A press release came out and a few sites reported it and then on launch day tmobile decided to not launch it. Some people, myself included, were able to get in on this rate by calling in and being a bit of a nag about it. It was only available for that one day. It's no longer available.

Yup, I got it too. It was only available on April 13th. It's a great plan but the catch is, the 2GB of high speed data. With the sensation, I think its best to have a data plan with 5GB.

I dint mind if they throttle me. Between my iPad 3G and wifi that kicks in when I am in my apartment, 2GB is plenty.

I have however heard some conflicting information. Maybe you can help me..,

I am on a month to month with this promo plan. I plan on grabbing the Sensation on a 2 year. I was told by one tmobile rep that I will still be able to keep my 59.99 even more + plan because it was. PROMO. then I called in another day an was told that if I grabbed the sensation on the contract price that I would have to drop the promo plan. Anyone know the truth?

I know exactly what will happen. If you want the Sensation at a discounted price ($199) you must sign a 2yr agreement. You also must choose one of the new contract plans. You CANNOT keep your $59.99 unlimited PROMO plan and go on contract. If they told you can, then they were mistaken.

Personally, I'd keep the $59.99 promo plan and pay the $499 retail for the phone. You'll save much more and get a lot more out of your plan considering the 2GB throttle isn't an issue for you.

I went into a store today to pay my bill and asked the question. I happened to ask a store manager and according to her, because the plan was a promo plan that is considered discontinued and not offered anymore, I do in fact get to hold on to it. I told her about the conflicting information I got and she called in to double check. She confirmed that her original answer was correct. I am happy to hear this. Notes were placed in my account just in case there are any hiccups. When the phone hits I told her I would be back and go through her.

On the new Even More Family Plans, is that pooled data they are offering or is it per phone? Say if I get the 1000 minute Unlimited Texted and 5GB data for $139.99. Is the 5GB data pooled for the first 2 pohones, or does each phone get allocated 5GB?

It is specifically allocated to one phone or the other (at least that is the way it is set up on our TMo family plan). There is the base family plan rate and then you pay extra to build in the data features and limits (gig caps, texting) that you want to add to each phone. The family plan minutes are shared.

I just switched from ATT, where I was paying over $370 a month for 4 Android lines, unlimited data and 2400 shared minutes to T-Mobile, where for the same 4 lines, and 600 more minutes(3000) for a whopping $180 a month. IMO, also a better lineup of phones all around.

Sent from my Google G2x using Tapatalk for Android.

Currently sitting on AT&T wondering if I should hop to either Verizon (my company has a good deal with them) or T-Mobile. The Sensation is making me lean a little towards T-Mobile but I'm curious: Are they worth the possible extra (~$5 or $10/month) over Verizon? Or is it futile because AT&T will eat them and I'll be back at Square 1? Last time anyone in my family had T-Mobile, the Nokia brick phone was state of the art with it's game of Snake...

Verizon is a overpriced and overhyped network. Tmobile is just fine. As long as you check your area and coverage and it provides coverage your good. Every one of my friends who has Verizon admits that they are getting raped in charges by Verizon

Yah but he is saying he would be paying less on Verizon. I think paying less on a superior network is a no-brainer imo. Main reason I am thinking of switching to T-Mobile is the cost savings and ATT coverage in my area is pretty crappy.

Even if Verizon is over hyped and over priced it is still a superior network and in his case cheaper.

I could pay less on Verizon with my employee discount too but I'm much happier with tmobile. Best CS and actually better coverage in my home area than verizon.

Same for me. But, frankly, I'm more concerned with devices right now than cost. T-mobile has the best devices and some of the cheapest plans, so its a win win. That might change once Verizon gets its high end LTE phones in gear, but for now T-mobile is the best choice.

Just thought I'd share my Sensation experience regarding T-Mobile. Decided to go back on contract and I'm now getting 500 mins + Preferred Android Web 5GB data + text for $69.99/mo + $7.99 insurance.

God, I love T-mobile. I really really really hope that the AT&T merger falls through!

I'm paying $119 for a grandfathered PLUS family plan (got this one under a recent promotion), 4 lines, unlimited text and data and 3000 minutes. I pay $5 per line for the second 2 lines. The unlimited data is on lines 1 and 2. My other two lines are used by a grandmother and a kid, so no need for data there. Also, as far as I know I'm grandfathered in before the data cap. Not that I'm using anywhere near 5GB (though I really need to start streaming something for the fun of it), it's nice to say "truly unlimited".

It really can't be beat. Even though I'm not using 3000 minutes or 5GB data, there's no where I can match this deal where I get 4 lines, 3000 minutes, unlimited texting on all, and ANY amount of data on two of them.

I now have to decide whether to jump on a contract before a merger. Question is, will AT&T honor my pricing at ALL if I'm NOT on a contract? And then the bigger question is, do I want AT&T to get ANY of my dollars, whether or not I can say that I'm screwing them by getting an awesome deal that they are obligated to honor? At this moment, I'm saying screw AT&T, I'll jump ship before giving them any of my $$, but the truth is, cash is King, and a lower bill goes a long way.

Sorry for rambling, don't want to turn this into a AT&T bash fest... :):)
