I'm in the market for a tablet and I wanted some input/opinions from other forum members that also have an Incredible. I keep hearing that I need to wait for what drops at CES (which I know is right around the corner) but I might not want to wait for that so what would you buy now? I'm not looking to spend a fortune and I don't need anything that has 3G/4G coverage because I have free wifi tether from my phone. A front facing camer isn't a necessity but would be nice. The top 2 options I have in mind at this time are a Viewsonic GTab or an iPad. I've had iPods in the past but never a Touch or an iPhone and the iPad looks pretty slick. The GTab would do more (such as flash videos and video chat) but that just seems to be a bigger version of my phone... so what are your thoughts? Anybody that already has the Incredible/iPad combo?

wait! trust me your going to make a very dum move if you buy one now, cuz now there aint crap

Definitely wait dude, in a few short months we're going to see tablets that are 10x better than anything on the market today.

If I were you I would wait a few weeks and see what is announced at or after CES. I purchased the galaxy Tab the day it was released and have been pretty happy with it so far. I do think its over priced but after the $100 drop in price it's getting closer to where it should be.

Really, I'd wait until the Honeycomb tablets start dropping. Honeycomb will (supposedly) actually have a version optimized for tablets, while the current tablets basically run as oversized phones (web sites still load the mobile versions by default, etc). The Galaxy Tab is a nice device, but will probably pale in comparison to what's coming. There's definitely a Motorola tablet coming, and there are rumors of an upcoming HTC tablet as well.

Thank you all for the input. Do you think the new tablets coming out will be high in price? By high I mean $600 or more...

I really like the slim form factor and shape of the iPad... and don't want the same OS that my phone has or will/could have. Whether that be my Incredible now or the Thunderbolt if I get that when it's available. Will these newer tablets have anything over the Thunderbolt? Besides being bigger..

I don't think any specs have been released for the major upcoming tablets. The Honeycomb tablets probably won't drop until at least spring, anyway.

Honestly, the ipad is probably the best you can do for a tablet right now (as much as I don't want to promote an apple product), although the ipad 2 probably isn't far off so you may want to hold off on getting one of those as well.

As far as price goes, it seems like the tabs that are coming out at a lower price point have taken a few shortcuts that hurt performance in one way or another.

I really wanted a Galaxy Tab when they came out, but I am holding out to see what gets announced at CES.

We're in the same boat jayhawk.
