The Incredible was my previous, and first Android device. It was a great phone, especially for its time, however, I was extremely unhappy with the build quality. The third time I dropped it (on accident, of course) from about waist height on the hard wood floors in my home, the screen totally shattered. So, I ordered a new digitizer kit, and fixed it up. It was fixed and ran great for about the first week after the repair. Then, the phone's LCD screen stopped working. I could still hear and feel touch response, but there was no picture. It was somehow still damaged from the fall. Eventually, after about 10 reboots I got it to work again - kinda. The device would function properly sometimes. Then, when my buddy was using it, somebody bumped into him, and again, the phone hit the ground, shattering the digitizer near beyond visibility. Now, I would have just used some sort of warranty through HTC, but I purchased the device refurbished. So, I threw in the towel and purchased my new toy - the Motorola DROID X.
Anyways, I still have all of the phone's components in their disassembled state from me trying to fix it for the second time, and I am looking for some sort of DIY project I could use them for (especially the LCD screen and the camera)
NOW : THE CHALLENGE
I really want to use this screen for something, but as I said above, it had some functionality issues in the past, plus, I believe in the second disassembly I may have damaged the ribbon cable connected to it.
IN SHORT,
I guess I am just looking for a fun, creative, practical DIY project to be had from the remains of an old DROID.
Any useful ideas and feedback is greatly appreciated.
lastly,
I LOVE ANDROID! It is the best a mobile operating system has to offer BY FAR, par none!!
Now let's come up with something to make some old hardware just as useful and cool as the software
