My first smart phone was the Windows powered AudioVox PPC6700 on the Sprint network via 2006. I paid full retail at about $600!

I can beat that. The 650 was my first smartphone. My first was the Treo 600. Upgrade from my palm pilot pro.

That was my first smartphone as well. I had had a Palm Pilot for a long time before that, and when Palm came out with the phone, I jumped at it. I still set my Google calendars so that they look like the Palm Calendar app, still the best ever written. [Edit]Now that i read some of the other replies, I believe that my first was the 600 as well.

I had the original Treo 600, before the 650 or 750, of which I had both of those as well. I also had the original palm pilot with monochrome screen that had no builtin connectivity, you could only use activesync with your PC, which crashed religiously.
