What will happen to the Pixel Slate update wise?

Hi guys

Let me introduce myself first, I'm FromNexusToPixel. Nice to meet you all

I'm planning to buy a Pixel Slate to watch Youtube or Netflix or browse the web while on a plane, but I have things that worry me:

1- Have the issues that been reported by a number of reviewers been addressed, like the extreme lagging for example?

2- Now that Google has decided to stop making android tablets, what is the future of the Google Pixel Slate when it comes to software updates?

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this to the Pixel Slate forum for more specific traffic.

I've read that there have been some updates to improve some of the jankiness in tablet mode, but I don't have one myself to test out.

I have the i5 model and have had no lag of any kind. I don't do anything heavy just media and web browsing.

I have the official Pixel Keybord cover and the bridge keyboard... the bridge makes it like a traditional Chromebook (more lapable) and the Pixel cover is great for portability.

Just an FYI, Google announced the other day that some 100+ Chromebook models will receive additional support updates ranging from 6 months to 2 years depending on the model. The Pixel Slate has received an additional 2 years, so the new EOL date is June 2026.
