What would you like to see come out with the M9?

Not sure if this has been mentioned but I would like a finger print scanner of some kind. Waterproofing/dust proofing would also be nice although I'm not sure that's possible with the aluminum body. Other than that, there's not much that would really be a deal sealer for me.

- 810 Chipset with a good amount of onboard RAM to support it. Dont use the 805 as a march release makes the 805 long in tooth tech wise.

- Don't use 4K unless the battery and screen use can support it. Living on a charger just to have a "spec war" screen isn't worth it at all. And how much is out there that uses 4K that would justify putting a monster screen in like that?

- Make the battery replaceable to the extent that you can on the iPhone 5/4 series. I don't need to change it out daily but I don't want to have to depend on a service to replace a battery. I would like to take a few screws and a suction cup and be able to divide the phone in two to have easy access at that point to replace the battery.

- A usable camera by the average person in auto mode. So many cameras of late outside of the iCraps (my wife has one) have a gajillion megapixels yet the software/sensors require so much tinkering photo to photo; the cameras are about useless.

- Keep same good radio(s) or go higher. I have a DNA and its funny to see my phone get signal in places where other "flagships" just flatline.

- Thoroughly test so that we don't have to get an immediate update. Seeing so many other manufacturers have to "update" and then a whole bunch of other problems crop up.ad

- A decent sized battery that will support about five hours of on screen time and medium use and will last about 24 hours between charges

Overall I think exterior issues are what they need to focus on for the next device. Spec wise I think the HTC One M8 was pretty perfect.
-Reduce size of the device by cutting down the top and bottom bezel. Get rid of the Black HTC Bar to further accomplish this goal.
-I think this is opinion more than anything else, but I'd go back to the squared off sides of the HTC One M7 because I think the M8 is hard to grasp.
-Move the power button to the right alongside where the volume button is. I'd like to see a setup similar to my Moto X (2013).

Here are my internal component suggestions.
-I don't believe the device will need a super powerful processor given that the current generation ones can handle tasks fine I'd use the 805.
-That being said I think 2GB's of RAM would be fine as well. No reason to raise the cost with more powerful components if you don't need them.
-Screen-wise 1080p is fine. I don't find 2K display's to be necessary and I'd rather have better battery life and performance over having one.
-Dump the Ultra Pixel camera and use a standard camera like everyone else. Everybody just wants a good camera and no gimmicks.

The only things I want added onto everything the m8 brought is water proofing, and wireless charging

Well for me my wish list is as follows:
M7 Size in the M8 design - I love the feel of the M8, rounded edges and all but it could stand to be a tiny bit smaller. Hopefully without having to sacrifice too much in the way of screen size.
32/64/128GB - It's really time for this device to truly compete with Apple and having devices all the way up to 128GB of storage helps with that.
Keep the MicroSD - This just supplements the on board storage and gives people more options, sure most won't need it but some of us do and appealing to a larger base is needed for HTC.
Wireless charging - Not sure how this can be done with an aluminum device but I don't believe anything is impossible and it is really necessary.
810 Chipset - This really is the only thing that is acceptable for a device that will be a "flagship" product.
3GB Ram - Same statement as above.
Camera - While the ultra pixel concept was good on paper it just doesn't work. Time to get rid of it and go with a traditional high pixel camera. 16 is the minimum but most leaks point to a 20MP which is better.
Bezels - minimize them all the way around, get rid of the dead space at the top and bottom where the logo is. There really is no justifiable reason for big black bands at the top and bottom.
Screen Quality - Like others here I don't know if that it needs to be 2K, 4K, or whatever. Current screen quality seems good to me but the industry will drive this upward regardless.
Water Proofing - This is seriously overrated and would rather they concentrate in other areas.
Sound - Front facing speakers are the standard now, I'd like to see a little better quality in the next version.
DevEd - Expand the developer edition so that it includes options to include Verizon and Sprint and not just GSM providers. I hate buying branded devices from carriers and would prefer to have fully unlocked factory devices. Doubtful that it will happen but hey I can dream.
Sense - I am apparently one of the few who like Blinkfeed but it also doesn't include enough sources of information that I like. Conceptually its great but still needs work. Also would like to see more advanced options available to alter the colors and backgrounds. Right now I do that with custom ROMs but those tweaks should start being included in sense.

Ok that's my 2 cents...

I'd like to see smaller bezels just to give the phone a smaller footprint. I'm spoiled by the Moto X and how big of a screen Motorola can fit into such a relatively small package.

100% agree.

I'd like to see the M9 be a bit shorter and wider. I thought the M8 was too tall and narrow. If this is the case and the speakers sound even better, and the battery can get through a day + some hours with good standby, I'd go back to HTC.

I like the design of the HTC Desire Eye. If the One M9 looked similar to that phone I'd go for it. I would like the front facing camera to be to the left or right side and not in the center. That just looks weird to me. Boomsound speakers of course. Premium metal instead of the plastic like the Desire Eye. No black HTC bar at the bottom. 1080p screen would be just fine. Can we get at least a 3000 mAh battery? Sense 7 with some useful features. I'd even go for a gimmick because I can't remember the last time HTC had a gimmick. I'm not even counting the Ultrapixel. Speaking of which, please get rid of that and put in a great shooter. 20 MP like everyone else is doing. No tall phone please. Great call quality and comfortable to hold would be great as well. Minimum of 32 GB for me would be fine. Other storage options are welcomed. Same day release as M8 last year would be fantastic. No lag please.

I'd like to see a flatter back, the phone is a tool for me not a social platform and I do use the calculator functions (apps) for work while it's on my desk or any other flat surface. That was the #1 reason I didn't purchase the MotoX last year.

Three things: Some type of GPE variant that runs stock #Android a' la Nexus 5/6, one device for all carriers (again a' la Nexus 5/6), and a tremendous camera. Selling options should come via carrier, Play Store, or HTC's very one website. That is all.
