I just came out of Best Buy after playing with the s8 and +. Put it side by side with my s7e silver which I've loved. The 8 is a little slimmer and may be a hair shorter but the screen is significantly larger. The murdered-out black is perfect. The virtual home key haptic feels clicky...it goes, "ca-chink" . The fingerprint scanner is awkward but I think I'd get used to it (or I might use it as often as I do on my s7e, which is one in ten times I pick it up. The width reduction makes it feel better in-hande. The s8+ doesn't feel that much larger (what wizardry is this??!) and is the same width as the s7e. Definitely harder to reach the fingerprint but I'm not sure I would use it. Camera starts quicker than the s7e when started from the icon. I would miss the double click on the home key start but the power key may suffice. I think I'd prefer the smaller one and the only thing holding me back is the concern about battery life. I'll hold out until the 19 th to see if we get a battery review.

I was suppose to go to BB today but I'm on daddy day care so maybe tomorrow

I went to check it out thinking I would be disappointed and cancel my pre-order. Wrong. It looks a completely different generation of phone than my S7 or any other phone. You really have to hate Samsung to pick any other phone within the same price range. I like the g6 but the extras from Samsung makes it no competition. My friend prefers the flat g6 but is getting s8 because of 64gb vs 32gb base storage.

I personally feel that's LG's foul-up this year: 32GB storage (except in Asia, where it's 64GB) when all the indications are that other flagships are including 64GB (Samsung, Sony, HTC at least are all doing that, not seen a 2017 Moto flagship yet).

I know I'm gonna love this phone. I've gone for the orchid grey but it was a toss up between that and the black.

Yeah, I was also on the fence between the G6 and the S8. The FPS placement was the main reason I was hesitant on the S8.

While I still wish it were in the same place as it is on the G6, it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

The newer SoC/modem, more internal storage, and faster camera are just icing.

LG probably would have had me had they not skimped on storage and the DAC.

Meh. I wasn't all that impressed when I held it. It just seemed like a stretched-out S7 edge, with smaller edges and a fingerprint sensor that was difficult to reach.

I got the G6 instead.

Not trying to bash the G6, but I had some hands on time with it this past weekend and I just don't see the appeal. The S8 isn't perfect, but considering how similar their strategies are, I think the S8 is the more complete device, regardless of marketing.

It's all about aesthetic appeal. You really can't go wrong with any of them. The s8 appealed to me instantly. The s7e was never uncomfortable but the s8 feels better. You say "tomāto", I say, "tomato" .

I'm gonna say pomodoro, because I personally think the all glass super tall doesn't work aesthetically. I'm still kicking it around, maybe it'll grow on me.

Don't go, cause you will leave with one preordered. These phones are crazy. I was at BB over the weekend and have not slept since then. I have not pulled the trigger yet as I am waiting for Note 8 but God only knows how much longer I can take this pain lol

Just depends on needs. I'm actually a big camera guy and using the G6 wide angel lens is pretty awesome for my uses.

Absolutely. I just wasn't that impressed with the phone as a whole. That said, I've only owned the G3 so I don't have a long history with LG devices.

Agreed. Holding it in the hand changed my opinion too. It made my S7 edge look and feel like a phone from the year 2010. Which I wasn't expecting AT ALL. Holding the Pixel after that felt even funnier. Samsung is the devil. They weren't kidding when they said that the S8 will change the way we look at phones forever.

Looking at oneplus to do something similar at a lower price. That would be the phone to get for me. Until then, Must resist getting the S8. Damn.

So true. Had the same reaction at bestbuy. My S7 Edge went from being my favorite and best looking phone to old and ugly in one second lol. It's crazy!
