What's the difference between "Likes" and "Thanks" on AC?

I'm still fairly new to the Android central forums, but there seems to be something out of place on my account. Whenever I view my profile, the "Thanked" section is always the same, despite my 44 likes at the time of this post. Likes, and thanks are obviously two different words, but seem to be one-in-the same here. Even though I have both received 44 likes, and been "thanked" several times, my profile still reads "Thanked 0 times in 0 posts". Am I "thanked" if someone quotes me, and replies with a 'thanks' to one of my posts? I would just like some clarification on the subject...

I think we phased out Thanks, but it's still in the mobile app.

That would explain why it doesn't appear on my desktop browser. Were likes supposed to be the "replacement"?
The thanks/likes thing is a bit of a mess :) As Ry said we had both at the same time and, in theory, the tech team removed the thanks option some time ago, so you can only check out your 'likes'. But. You can still thank anyone only from the main AC app and you can see your total 'thanks' (given and received) in your profile using Tapatalk and Android Central Forums app. Yeah, I know, don't ask me why. As far as I know you can't see the details of who thanked you or on which post.

I moved your thread to Site Feedback & Help forum where it could be easier getting feedback from the tech team.
