Whats wrong with my phones storage?

I got a new phone but it's the exact same model as my old one..
Alcatel verso..
But for some reason if I put in an sd card, it shows up fine for the most part, but the internal storage says 0.0b of 0.0b..
If I remove as card it says "storage/emulated/0 not found" and I can't access anything..
And on my PC, the sd card shows up but the internal shared storage isn't recognized..
I can't even provide screenshots to help because it says there's no room in internal storage...
And I also don't understand how I'm on an app, with no internal storage to hold the app supposedly..
What do I do?..

First, remove the SD card and clear the cache partition and reboot. Then, see if you can dl Data Size Explorer and run it for internal storage. Post a screenshot of the result. Good luck

Did you format the card to be Internal Storage or Portable Storage?

I have tried it both ways with different sd cards..
As internal makes the phone show 14gb total but shows no sd storage and the sd card alone is 18 GB and it's empty..
As portable it shows no internal but the sd memory is correct.

Have you tried other SD cards? That particular card might be corrupt, defective, or counterfeit.
