Whatsapp chat history on new phone

I copied the Database folder from my old android phone on to my new Moto G in the Whatsapp folder. Then I installed Whatsapp, when I opened it, it verified my number and then it asked me if I wanted to restore my backup. I clicked on yes. It started restoring, but it didn't complete as I didn't see anything telling me that I have restored a certain number of messages. It took me directly to the page where I could edit my Picture and name. It managed to restore all groups. But I haven't any messages in these groups. And neither do I have any Personal Chats. I still have the previous backup. And I have tried factory resetting my Moto G, but to no avail.

u must reinstall it...and try the same procedure

I also have the same problem. I have reinstalled the app many times but no luck. When i verify my number it says messages found would you like to restore, when i click yes its on the loading screen for a while then takes me to my whatsapp page but my old messages are not there except the whatsapp groups i'm on.

Please help
