WhatsApp For Desktop (Windows 10)

I realize that this is not the perfect forum for my question, but I cannot get an answer from WhatsApp support so...

I don't understand whether the WhatsApp software that can be installed on a desktop PC (running Windows 10) allows to place and receive _voice_ calls, much like Skype does.

Does anyone here know whether or not WhatsApp for desktop allows that or is it only for chatting online?
