Whatsapp notifications during youtube?

Hello all. Using a one plus 5 here. It's my first android phone.

I noticed that whenever I am watching a video on youtube and I get a message from WhatsApp, it lowers the volume on the youtube video temporarily.

Is there anyway to get the notification to not interrupt the youtube video?

I don't think so as it gains audio focus.

It seems to happen only with WhatsApp though.

I was just watching a youtube video and got a facebook notification and it was not Interrupted.
