Whatsapp notifications not working ...

Hi there,

I disabled notifications for Whatsapp at the beginning but now want to turn them back on but am having no luck.

I've done all of the obvious things like turning them back on in Whatsapp and also checking the options in Application Manager and also making sure there is a sound associated with the notifications but still nothing.

Nothing in the notification area (pull down from top) and no sound notification.

I've done everything that I can think of other than uninstall it and reinstall it.
Hoping to avoid the uninstall.

Can anyone think of something I might have not tried?

Perhaps this is because of background data restriction
Open your phone's Settings app > Apps > WhatsApp > Data usage and check if background data is restricted or not.

Thanks EricaRG for the thought. I've never seen that setting before, but background data in not restricted.
